Subject: Secret back room swearing in: I have to say, once again I have an issue with how you "present" things to the public and it's with this statement: ?TRANSPARANCE? seems to be a promise they, the KEEP MULLICA GREEN team have no intention of honoring? as their actions become even more arrogant than their predecessors. Although Mr. Kennedy may be a Democrat, I am having issues with you lumping him into the "Keep Mullica Green Team". Last I understood, the team was two people, Graebener and St. Amour and because you are angry at Mr. Kennedy, you think it's okay to lump him in with Graebener and St. Amour? What Mr. Kennedy does is what he does, on his own, with approval from who I assume is Chief Barbera. From what I have read and seen, his ego is way to inflated to even allow him to call anyone else on committee about anything. In fact, I heard Macy's called him, they need his ego inflated head to use as a float for the next Thanksgiving parade. Mr. Angel, I doubt very much there will ever be any politician, whether on the local level, State level or National level you will ever be happy with in any way, shape or form. You will find and dig and embellish anything negative you can no matter how much good is being accomplished. What is sad to me is that your site has been a real asset, but your delivery and take on some things is so off, you lose credibility and because of that, end up being dismissed by many.
RESPONSE: While you makes some legitimate points here ... and indeed I would hope that there will never be a politician at any level in any Party that will on this or that issue NOT find my ire. However, in that context I am pragmatic and know that I will not, any more than any thinking person should...agree with others on every issue...the notion that support for a candidate demands silence when there is a divergence of view is one I would hope you would NOT support. I honestly thought the team was 'three' people.
Further, I would respectfully, argue that the failure to allow public input on the decision to spend Mullica tax dollars for State Police coverage of Towns that have no LOCAL town police department which St Amour and Grabener saw properly as ludicrous...but because the public was shut out from comments that might have questioned this ridiculous vote by the three other members of THE CORRUPT MULLICA 5 AKA IDIOTS R US … that ludicrous position passed; that Mullica taxpayers should pay for the police in Lower Twp, Washington Twp and dozens of other towns with no local police department. HUH?
Okay, in most cases the decision on an issue has been decided pretty much 99 times out of a hundred. However, intelligent elected people should not be afraid that someone at the Town Meeting may see something that they didn't and if given an opportunity to voice their perspective in a Town Meeting forum ... that would change the way an elected official had planned to vote, before hearing new information. Having/hearing new information – can have the potential, unless one wants to be like our IDIOT President...who so clearly is incapable of once having decided ... reevaluating…change a preconceived opinion. The public had an expectation of better from St Amour and Graebener.
In the example above, both Forman and Chasey had voted ‘Yes” before St Amour gave his explanation to vote ‘No’ in terms of Mullica paying for Police coverage for other Towns that had no local police departments. Had the discussion occurred that included the public St Amour would have most likely garnered support from the audience in attendance. Resolutions, (which is what this was…opposing the Corzine Budget) do not have to be open to the public…so nothing illegal was done…just a bad policy decision.
Another example where St Amour and Grabener were wrong was the view that failure to apply for a Junk Yard license by the due date…meant a previous Junk Yard license holder was shut out from getting a Junk Yard license and loses the ability to operate his business. The three others on Committee voted correctly to allow John Perona to come into compliance and apply even though the deadline had past. The legal issue being one of ‘abandonment’ and the position of St Amour and Grabener on this is wrong…and a public discussion would have forced a legal opinion from the solicitor. The explanation that it was in Mullica’s interest to shut the junk yard down and that the ends justify the means … when the means are illegal … and to dismiss this with a let Perona challenge it in Court… seems arrogant and abusive.
Note, there is no damn censorship here on the GadFly site. How do you defend the silence of St Amour and Graebener when the question at a Town Meeting is who supported and who opposed the expenditure of tax payers dollars. Okay, bill THE INVERTABRATE TOADY kennedy found the question apparently embarrassing and gaveled the questioner silent. For St Amour and Graebener to allow THE TOADY kenney, in what is a Committee form of government to silence a questioner of policy and the spending of tax payer dollars, seems to make them complicit in some questionable, if not unethical and/or illegal expenditures of tax dollars. This should trouble every tax payer in Mullica.
