Subject: Double Standard: Intriguing, isn't it Larry, that the noble U.S. Supreme Court decided by a vote of 6-3 to allow federal authorities to arrest and prosecute decent people whose doctors mercifully recommended smoking the "evil weed," marijuana, to ease their physical pains. The right wing leaning court blatantly and coldly disregarded the 11 states that have medical marijuana laws in place as well as pleas from the prescribing doctors and their suffering patients. Forget common decency as well But wait, what is this daily tidal wave of television ads that propagate every known pharmaceutical drug covering the spectrum? How repetitions and mind controlling are prominent ads for Altovis, Allegra, Ambien, Celebrex, Enzyte, Fosamaz, Humira, Levitra, Lipitor, Nexuim, Plavix, Seasonale, Valtrex, and Zyrtec, among the dozens of legally prescribed concoctions, many with serious side effects. They are designed to entice the viewer into the controlling world of the multi billion dollar pharmaceutical industry (a heavy contributor to the Republican Party). Have we forgotten former Attorney General John Ashcroft's zealous crusade to prevent terminal cancer suffers from the uses of this unlicensed and nonlethal prescription? I suppose that, once marijuana becomes legally acceptable and the giant drug companies get their manipulating hands on the sales, all will be well in White House land and Supreme Courtville. Nancy
