The community is shocked by the suspected homicide of a 77 year old township resident on Sunday, February 5, when the victim was found by a family member at around 3:00 PM. The homicide took place in the Nesco section of the township. Police were on the scene today and a K-9 unit searched the property. This is the first murder in the township since 1999. The unofficial School Board election results are still listed on the Atlantic County Clerk's website. It's safe to say William Cheatham won the GEHR seat, as he ran unopposed and there were only 15 write in votes, with total votes of 364. The School Board Election will be held today, Wednesday, April, 27 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. All wards in the township will vote at the Mullica Township School Gymnasium.
