Subject: Seat Belt what about speeding: Larry thanks for calling attention to the seatbelt issue. I believe that ther real issue is speeding, and speeding to get to the Imus apology fest so his face could get press. The passenger is vicariously liable for the acts of the employee driver. Speeding risks the lives of others no seatbelts are a risk if they cant pay medical bills. The finger pointing at the red pickup, the state trooper were discusting and typical of the Gov's business career. He approaches the job of Gov as a vanity title for an entitled psudo-populist plutocrat. ex jersey resident without standing. Ernie Theurer
RESPONSE: Clearly speeding played a role in this situation, however, it apparently was the norm, not just for the NJ gov. but for other govs. One hopes that the priorities of politicians rushing to meetings that are clearly not an emergency will be addressed with new guide lines. Citing the State Trooper as some have called for seems unfair as this was normal acceptable behavior in the past...hopefully no longer.
