Subject: scam: Larry, bought some items at a Mullica Twp. store- Butterhof's feed. As in the past the people there were very reluctant to give me a receipt. When I persisted the clerk handed me a small piece of adding machine tape, but first he tore off the name of the store. What is your opinion about this. Do you think this store is cheating the state and the federal government?

RESPONSE: I recently bought something there as well, but was not as observant as you. Clearly, the situation as you portray it raises suspicions. It is not unusual for games regarding sales tax and income to be played by some store owners. I don't know that this is the case here, but the situation as you describe it is certainly suspicious.
