Subject: Re: Republican Failures: Larry believe me, I'm the first to blame President Bush for anything and everything, but the unpopularity of the Republican Party is not his fault alone. Do the names DeLay, Cheney, Lott, Armey, Hastert, Frist, Cunningham and Inhofe ring a bell? The Republicans let their party be hijacked by the neocons and religious nuts as they stood by and did nothing. And now they're crying that it's Bush's fault? And who was in charge when 9/11 happened — the Republicans. How can the people who were supposed to be keeping us safe when catastrophe hit be looked upon as the ones who will keep us safe the next time around? The 9/11 terrorists caught our Republican administration flat-footed, even though we had glimpses of the terrorists' playbook. How Republicans were able to use this defensive failure as a way to pump up their credentials as strong on defense is beyond me. BD
