Subject: Former Supervisor Extols Fired Prosecutors: By Dan Eggen Washington Post Staff Writer, (T)he Justice Department's inspector general and Office of Professional Responsibility are investigating whether a former Gonzales aide, Monica M. Goodling, illegally considered political affiliation in reviewing candidates for positions as career assistant prosecutors for offices with interim or acting U.S. attorneys. A review of Justice Department records shows that at least three dozen of the 93 U.S. attorney's offices fell into that category at some point during Goodling's tenure as a senior counselor to Gonzales, which began in fall 2005. Officials have declined to provide details about the allegations or to say how many offices may have been affected. Goodling has resigned and refused to testify to Congress, invoking her right not to incriminate herself. The House Judiciary Committee has offered her immunity and is waiting to learn whether Justice objects on the grounds that immunity could compromise future prosecutions. … Comey [the Justice Department's second in command from 2003 until August 2005] said it was "very troubling" to hear allegations that political considerations may have been taken into account in the hiring of assistant U.S. attorneys, or AUSAs. "I don't know how you would put that genie back in the bottle, if people started to believe we were hiring our AUSAs for political reasons," he said.

RESPONSE: HUH? This totally corrupt Republican administration has placed people in position of leadership throughout the government who pervert and ignore accepted science, as well as well as established laws and procedures for their two political goals...large excessive profits for campaign donors to Republicans and enforcing the religious dogma of the extreme fanatical members of the Christian faith who hold undue sway in the Republican Party.

With Congress now in the hands of Democrats and the investigations and hearings into the corruption and theft at almost every level that occurred when Congress was controlled by Republicans who chose to support Bush and allow the looting of the treasury and piling on of debt as they also shredded the Constitution ...what will be revealed should be startling.

Of course, Bush and his merry band of Fascist criminals, with the startling support of Republican members of Congress, has indicated that he will not allowe subpoenaed members of his administration to testify under oath. HUH? The scum-bag Bush has claimed that the recently issued subpoenas were "unprecedented" and indicated the Karl Rove and Condi Rice will not testify under oath nor other members of his corrupt inner circle.

HUH? During the Clinton years with a Republican Congress in control of Committees, the same damned Republicans who are supporting the President's stonewalling of testimony under oath, issued more than 1,000 such subpoenas to Clinton officials...who testified. The scandals of course of Clinton era cost the lives of no one...as opposed to the Republican lies and scandals that led to war ...with a death toll of over 3,300 Americans and tens of thousands of others coming home with broken bodies and minds. All this remember as Republicans cut funding for veteran health care programs. This November, every @#$/&% Republican needs to be defeated by all of us who care about, and love America.
