Subject: Campaign: Larry, As a relatively new reader of the Gadfly, I must say that I am very impressed with the clarity in which you view issues, both locally and nationally. I admire your principles, dedication and intellect. While I think you are an asset to Mullica, I think you could be an even greater asset if you were to be on Council. I recall you running some years back. Would you consider another run for local office? Given your notoriety, you certainly have name recognition and I am sure if you appealed to your readers for support they would support you. Sweetwater

RESPONSE: Welcome to GadFly and thanks for the kind words. My hope would be that in terms of my "notoriety" that I have offended at one time or another every group out there. The pride in the GadFly site comes from the fact that there is no censorship of input...whether observations of others or my own views. Political candidacy puts tremendous pressure on anyone to censure their positions. One need only look at the national candidates in both Parties. Democrats for the most part are cowards regarding the need to end the war the sooner the better and Republicans are seen cowering before the large say that Christian extremists have today in that political Party.
