MULLICA RELEASES SECRET AMBULANCE REPORT
The hidden from public ambulance service evaluation secret report that sought to assess the options for Mullica in terms of providing ambulance service that was completed in August of 2006, was released to the public at the last Town meeting in April. That report recommended that the best course of action for providing reliable ambulance service to the citizens of Mullica would be to contract with the paid Hammonton Rescue Squad for that service at around $50,000 per year.
That report focused purely on the financial aspects and ignored the issue of time response that GadFly has spoken to many times here. The present Mullica Rescue Squad has found it difficult to recruit new members and at times despite the dedicated effort of a small crew of volunteers is unable to respond to calls during half of the day ... and Mullica is paying the Hammonton Squad to cover for ambulance service during the day time hours. The difficulty of fielding a crew during the hours when Mullica's squad is responsible puts lives at risk and as noted a volunteer squad is required by law to have one EMT while when a squad is paid the State laws require that two EMTs be on each ambulance.
Recently released closed session back room executive session minutes (not taped under corrupt Republican changes in the procedure) show that the sole Democrat, bill THE GARRULOUS kennedy on Committee, repeatedly called for the report prepared by an ad hoc committee of two Republicans and one Democrat (Kennedy) be released to the public and he was stone walled by the other Republican members of Mullica offica DUMB as the evaluation remained hidden from pubic view.
GadFly, got a hold of a copy of the secret ambulance report and over a period of time has posted it here for the public to read. Thus it was that at the last Town meeting in April THE CORRUPT MULLICA 5 AKA IDIOTS R US decided to release the document to the public and also to continue its support for the extant volunteer ambulance squad which has trouble meeting the needs of the community. The spin given this decision was that paying $15,000 more per year for less reliable Mullica squad was a good deal. HUH? In fairness, Committee person Janet Forman did note that going with Hammonton would require residents to fork out around $75 per year in dues per household as that is the formulation in Hammonton.
The only member of the ad hoc committee that prepared the hidden report in attendance at this meeting was the inarticulate Kennedy as both Republicans, Dan Turygan and Mullica’s Chief Financial Officer, Dawn Stollenwerk were absent...but as is the norm under Republican control of Mullica ... the decision had already been made in the back room and Kennedy seemed simply beat down by the inevitable.
The head of the Mullica ambulance squad, Republican sycophant Gary Franklyn, obviously aware that the decision had been made in the back room in his favor only spoke at the end of the Town meeting to indicate that he hoped that the issue would not be part of this year’s political campaign ... and that he could not vote for anyone who opposed spending hundreds of thousands of dollars in hard earned Mullica taxpayer’s dollar for the continuation of the extant ambulance paradigm that would soon require the purchase of new ambulances and the desire of the few members of the extant squad to have their own home paid for by Mullica taxpayers. HUH?
