Subject: Response to JDF, We all loose: Ah hem, I thought Lisa really said it well that at bottom we are a country of laws and when there is no respect for the law under a leader that leader rightly earns the distain of all who are not the beneficiary of the arbitrary nature of the decision making process. Let me quote for you President Bush on a Pentagon audit finding that Halliburton, “VISE” President Dick Cheney’s former company, potentially overcharging up to $61 million for gasoline delivered as part of its no bid contract to help rebuild Iraq’s oil industry. “If there’s an overcharge, like we think this is, we expect the money be repaid.” NO, that’s not my typo, but the way this intellectually lazy man who doesn’t read a newspaper speaks. Halliburton says it was just a bookkeeping error and therefore we should like Kenny-boy be able to keep the money. I think I’ll try that line the next time I short the IRS on my income tax. Process matters and the failure to openly bid contracts should be anathema to all Americans. Just as the Clinton pardons and the selling of the Lincoln bedroom should be anathema. When party loyalty is placed above principle we all loose; Democrats, Republicans and all Americans. RB
