MULLICA'S PIT BULL SAGA

An interesting aspect of the dog fighting ring in Mullica that has not been reported is that when a search warrant was executed on the property where the pit bulls were caged a dirt bike was found that had been stolen from Virginia. Mike Amara the owner of the property was cited for possession of stolen property and that Complaint sits in the Atlantic County prosecutor's office. Amara's address of record is Clifton New Jersey.

To date there have been no citations issued regarding animal cruelty in a case that obviously involved a dog fighting ring. WHY? WE CALL THEM DUMB ANIMALS, AND SO THEY ARE, FOR THEY CANNOT TELL US HOW THEY FEEL, BUT THEY DO NOT SUFFER LESS BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO WORDS. (Anna Sewell) Foolishly the Mullica Police Department is letting the Atlantic County SPCA handle this matter. WHY? Any fines that the Mullica Court assesses signed by the SPCA go to the SPCA. Should the Mullica Police cite the two individuals the fines would go to Mullica.

While it is true that it is not the job of the Police to raise money for the Township the reality of where fines go should be in play. Traffic citations issued by the Mullica Police that generate fines are split 50/50 with the State. Further a policy that allows a quasi non profit entity like the SPCA to keep its fines itself is just asking for abuse.
