MASSACHUSETTS GAY MARRIAGE RULING

The Massachusetts Senate voted the other day to ask the state's highest court if Vermont style civil unions would satisfy the court's decision legalizing gay marriages. Some lawmakers and legal observers say that anything short of gay marriage will not satisfy the Massachusetts's Supreme Judicial Court, which ruled in November that gay couples have a right under the state constitution to marry. Echoing the words of Jefferson: EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL, SPECIAL PRIVILEGES FOR NONE. It gave the Legislature 180 days to change the laws accordingly.

Here in New Jersey a Judge decided that the issue of equal rights for gays viz. a viz. marriage was not a judicial one but one that should be addressed by the legislature. Thus, in the lame duck session a domestic partner's bill is pending that is similar to Vermont's. Said bill recently passed the State Assembly. Both local assembly men, frank DOCTOR DEATH blee & kirt DOUBLE DIPPER conover voted against the bill...establishing there credentials as in tune with the extreme bigoted right wing of the Republican Party. As of this posting bill THE BOSS gormley has not decided how he will vote when the bill comes to the Senate. Will the Senator validate his moderate Republican credentials or vote with the bigots?
