Subject: Sweetwater Cell Tower: Hey Larry, PLEASE let Verizon and the Mullica Township Zoning Board do their 'thing' so we can enjoy cell phone service in the Sweetwater area!!! If it takes a secret meeting to get it done, so be it!!! Iraq has better cell service than Sweetwater!!! Sweetwater resident

RESPONSE: The Sweetwater cell tower issue will NOT be on the agenda for today's Mullica Zoning Board meeting. The agenda went up this morning. A further conversation with the Zoning Board's secretary indicates that it is expected to be on the agenda at the December meeting...the second Wedsday of December.

I would respectfully like to suggest to "Sweetwater Resident" that process does matter. A "secret meeting" that placed a half way house for sexual offenders near your home in violation of due process and a required public hearing might be some what upsetting (perhaps to you).

Dictatorships like the one that existed in Iraq are efficient by their very nature and democracies move much slower because of the need for due process and public hearings on the decision making process. Indeed under HItler and Mussollini the trains ran on time...not a trade off most Americans would be willing to make...well, with the exception of BUSH THE LESSER REPUBLICANS that is.

This site (Gadfly) recognizes the need to address the black hole of cell tower reception in Sweetwater and Elwood, but totally supports the legal obligation of elected officials like THE CORRUPT MULLICA 5 to hold public hearings and allow those who may object or like yourself support the Verizon proposal for a cell tower at the Sweetwater Fire House to be heard...that's Democracy!

The irony here is that had Leming/Angel won the election, both of whom are proactive as opposed to THE CORRUPT MULLICA 5 who once again showed at Monday afternoons Township meeting that they had no interest in ameliorating, or knowledge of the cell tower problems in Sweetwater. Both Leming & Angel might well have pushed for the Township or Fire Company building the tower themselves as Medford is doing and collecting all the revenue as a sound business decision for the taxpayers of Mullica.

It is the arrogance of gary THE MUKTAR franklyn in attempting to back door this cell tower deal into Sweetwater 5 years ago that has caused the long delay in Sweetwater getting cell tower reception.

Process and following the law matter in America they don't matter in Iraq.
